Technical Seminar on PT Slabs and Beams

The Builders' Association of India, Southern Centre, successfully organized a Technical Seminar on PT Slabs & Beams on 20th June 2025 at the Padma Bhushan Dr. A. Ramakrishna Auditorium, BAI-Southern Centre Premises, Ambattur, Chennai.

The seminar commenced with a warm Welcome Address by Mr. R. Nimrode, Centre Chairman. This was followed by an inspiring Inaugural Address by Bhishma Mr. R. Radhakrishnan, Past National President & Trustee, BAI.

The occasion was further enriched by the presence of Mr. K. Venkatesan, State Chairman, and Mr. L. Venkatesan, All India Trustee, who shared valuable insights. Mr. Mu. Moahan, Past National President & Trustee, delivered a concluding address.

The seminar featured detailed technical presentations by experts from UCON PT Structural Systems Private Limited, including Thiru D.P. Madheswaran, Thiru Seelam Prasad and Thiru Mahendiran. The topics covered included:

• Construction Methodology and Sequence
• Project References in Diaphragm Wall Construction

Additionally, the session on Post Tensioning in Slabs was comprehensive and covered:

• Importance of Post Tensioning Techniques
• Framing Plan
• Rebar Drawing
• Tendon Layout & Profile Drawing
• Post Tensioning Construction Sequence

The entire event was well organised by Mr. R. Ramesh, Chairman, Seminar Committee and Mr. S. Karunanithi, Co-Chairman, Seminar Committee whose efforts ensured the smooth execution of the program.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 175 members, who greatly benefited from the technical insights shared. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. G. Diwakar, followed by lunch.
