TECHNICAL SESSION ON “ELECTRICAL SAFETY AT RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL & PUBLIC BUILDINGS

On 12/10/2022, "Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Builders Association of India - Southern Centre (BAI) jointly with International Copper Association India (ICA India) have organised a TECHNICAL SESSION ON "ELECTRICAL SAFETY AT RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL & PUBLIC BUILDINGS at Vestin Park Hotel, #39 Montieth road, Red Cross Road, Egmore, Chennai-600008. The meeting was started with lighting of Kuthuvilakku by Mr. Mu.Moahan, Trustee & Past National President, Mr. R.R.Shridhar, Chairman, BAI-Southern Centre and Office Bearers of International Copper Association.

The Technical session has focus upon the electrical safety, reliability and sustainability aspects to be followed during Electrical installations in Buildings and its maintenance in accordance with latest Standards, Codes & Regulations. The sessions was conducted by the Expert Advisors which is very useful to Electrical Consultants, Electrical Contractors, Developers & Builders, Electrical Engineers etc. and must attend sessions. Mr. R.R.Shridhar, Chairman, BAI-Southern Centre addressed the gathering and welcomed the Speakers and participants. He also explained the importance of the Technical Session. The speakers explained about the Role of Wires & Cables and Transformers in mitigating the issues – Safety, Energy Efficiency, Reliability and Sustainability, Role of Standardisation & Periodic Inspections for Achieving Electrical Safety in High-Risk Buildings and Lightning Protection & Earthing in buildings as per IEC 62305 & NBC 2016. The meeting was well attended by all Office Bearers, around 50 members from BAI-Southern Centre.
