Technical Seminar on "Overview on Present Pile Foundations and Pile Load Tests"

The Builder's Association of India, Southern Centre, successfully organized a Technical Seminar on "Overview on Present Pile Foundations and Pile Load Tests" on 10th September 2025 at the Padma Bhushan Dr.A.Ramakrishna Auditorium, BAI-Southern Centre Premises, Ambattur, Chennai.

The seminar commenced with a warm Welcome Address by Mr. R. Nimrode, Centre Chairman. This was followed by an inspiring Inaugural Address by Bhishma Mr. R. Radhakrishnan, Past National President & Trustee, BAI.

The occasion was further enriched by the presence of Mr. K. Venkatesan, State Chairman and Mr. L. Venkatesan, All India Trustee who shared valuable insights. Mr. Mu. Moahan, Past National President & Trustee delivered the Concluding Address.

Dr. B. Ramprasad, ME, PhD (Texas A&M), Managing Director, M/s Prasad Armstrong Yen GEC (P) Ltd., Chennai, delivered an in-depth technical presentation covering the following key aspects:

• Rising demand for Pile Foundations in Chennai
• Types of Piles used in Chennai
• Pile Load Tests
• Key Learnings from Case Studies
• Conclusions & Recommendations

The entire event was meticulously organized by Mr. R. Ramesh, Chairman, Seminar Committee and Mr. S. Karunanithi, Co-Chairman, Seminar Committee whose dedicated efforts ensured smooth execution.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 150 members who greatly benefited from the practical insights and rich technical content.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. G. Diwakar, Hon. Secretary, followed by lunch.
