BAI-SOUTHERN CENTRE PLATINUM JUBILEE GLORIOUS 75 GRAND FINALE CELEBRATIONS:

The Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Southern Centre, proudly celebrated the Grand Finale of its Platinum Jubilee – “Glorious 75” on 8th March 2026 at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai. The event marked a historic milestone commemorating 75 years of dedicated service to the construction industry and brought together distinguished leaders of the association, industry stalwarts, members and delegates from various Centres across the country.

The celebrations commenced at 2.30 PM with a graceful Bharatanatyam performance, setting a traditional and auspicious tone for the event. At 3.00 PM, the programme was formally called to order, followed by the Tamil Thai Valthu. The dignitaries then lit the traditional Kuthuvilakku, symbolizing the formal inauguration of the celebrations.

The Welcome Address was delivered by Mr. R. Nimrode, Chairman, BAI Southern Centre, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, delegates and members and highlighted the significance of the Platinum Jubilee year. In his address, he expressed that the association was deeply honoured by the gracious presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. S. N. Subrahmanyan, whose leadership of Larsen & Toubro Limited continues to inspire the entire infrastructure and construction industry. He also conveyed his sincere gratitude to Mr. S. N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman & Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro Limited, for kindly accepting the invitation to be the Chief Guest despite his demanding schedule. He further welcomed the All India President and other distinguished dignitaries who had joined the celebrations.

A Special Address was delivered by Bhishma Shri R. Radhakrishnan, Chairman – Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, who shared insights into the remarkable journey of the association and acknowledged the collective efforts that made the Platinum Jubilee celebrations a success. He also thanked Mr. S. N. Subrahmanyan, CMD, Larsen & Toubro Limited, for graciously accepting his invitation to be the Chief Guest.

The Chief Guest was then formally introduced, following which Mr. S. N. Subrahmanyan released the Special Platinum Jubilee Souvenir and delivered his address and released the Platinum Jubilee Souvenir. In his address, he praised Bhishma Shri R. Radhakrishnan, Chairman – Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, for his significant contribution to the fraternity. He shared valuable insights on the construction sector and emphasized its vital role in the infrastructure development of the nation, providing the gathering with a renewed perspective and inspiration. The Chief Guest was subsequently honoured with a memento as a token of appreciation.

As part of the celebrations, mementoes were presented to distinguished personalities in recognition of their valuable contributions to the construction industry:

Second Session

The second session of the Platinum Jubilee Grand Finale commenced at 5.00 PM.

The programme began with a formal call to order, followed by pleasantries extended to outstation delegates, recognizing their presence and continued support to the association.

Mr. R. Radhakrishnan, Chairman – Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, in his address expressed heartfelt gratitude to members, sponsors, and dignitaries who had contributed to the successful conduct of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Mr. Rajendra Singh Kamboh, National President, BAI, addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the BAI Southern Centre in organizing the grand Platinum Jubilee celebration.

This was followed by an address by Mr. Sthaladipti Saha of Larsen & Toubro, representing one of the leading organizations in the construction sector.

The session then continued with felicitations and honoring of eminent personalities who have made notable contributions to the association and the construction industry. Among those honoured were:

  • Mr. K. Venkatesan, State Chairman – BAI Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & A&N
  • Mr. L. Venkatesan, All India Trustee, BAI

A Special Award – “BAI Thalapathi” was presented to Mr. Mu. Moahan, Past National President and Past Trustee, in recognition of his invaluable service and leadership to the association.

The Life Time Achievement Award was presented to Mr. J. R. Sethuramalingam, Past Vice President and Past Trustee, acknowledging his long-standing dedication and significant contributions to BAI.

The programme continued with the honouring of Past State Chairmen, Past Vice Presidents, and Centre Chairmen, celebrating their pivotal role in shaping and strengthening the association over the years.

The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by the Hon. Secretary, who expressed sincere appreciation to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, members, sponsors, organizing committee, and all those who contributed to the success of the celebration.

The celebrations concluded with the National Anthem, followed by fellowship, entertainment, and dinner, providing an opportunity for members and delegates to interact and celebrate the milestone together.

The Platinum Jubilee – “Glorious 75” Grand Finale was a memorable and historic occasion that reflected the unity, strength, and achievements of the Builders’ Association of India. The event successfully honoured past leaders, recognized outstanding contributors, and reaffirmed the association's continued commitment to the growth and development of the construction industry in India.
