Meeting with Hon'ble Minister for Public Works and Sports

On 4th June 2026, the Hon'ble Minister for Public Works and Sports, Government of Tamil Nadu, along with the Principal Secretaries and Chief Engineers of the Public Works and Highways Departments, conducted two separate interactive meetings with contractors at the offices of the Chief Engineer, PWD, Chepauk, and the Chief Engineer, Highways Department, Guindy, Chennai.

Contractors from various parts of Tamil Nadu participated in the meetings. The Hon'ble Minister personally interacted with the contractors and heard their concerns relating to transparency in tender procedures, timely execution of quality works and settlement of pending payments.

The Minister assured the contracting fraternity of the Government's commitment to maintaining transparency in tendering processes, ensuring fair practices, and facilitating timely settlement of legitimate dues.

Representing BAI Southern Centre, Mr. Mu. Moahan, Past National President and Trustee, Mr. A.N. Balaji, Past Chairman and State Secretary, along with the State Chairman, respective Committee Chairmen and contractors, submitted a detailed representation to the Hon'ble Minister.

Both meetings were highly productive and provided a valuable platform for constructive dialogue between Government officials and the contracting community.
